THE PRESENTATION OF THE GRAN DERBI NEXT SUNDAY AT THE SÁNCHEZ-PIZJUÁN

Sevilla FC Women were presented this afternoon before the media for the derby that will take place next Sunday at the Sánchez-Pizjuán. The game will honour the work that the Sevilla Foundation will carry out for International Women's Day which will be celebrated on March 8th. In the ceremony carried out at Sevilla's own stadium in the presence of the media, the sporting director Monchi appeared, together with the director of women's football, Amparo Gutiérrez, as well as the coach Cristian Toro and the player Amparito Delgado.

Before the round of questions, they spoke about what this game means for each of them and the club. The player highlighted firstly the feeling that comes with playing in a stadium in which she has gone to since she was young to support her life long team. "This derby doesn't feel real. It's a dream and I want to thank the club a lot. I am going to carry out a dream this Sunday and we are all really looking forward to seeing the stadium full and the crowd reacting to the game." In turn, Cristian Toro made an appeal saying that "we all want to play in our stadium and with our fans. We would love the party to be full with many people supporting us and I am sure that they are proud because of the way that they follow the team." 

On the non-playing side, Amparo Gutiérrez underlined the forward step that the return to the Sánchez-Pizjuán, Sevilla Women's football team. It is a dream that they can do it in their footballing career and now they can enjoy in from the other side: "The club are doing a lot of things for women's football. It is not easy to open a stadium in this way. They are throwing themselves into this and we hope that all the Sevilla fans will come and support the girls and feel what they feel in the Sánchez-Pizjuán." Also Mochi noted the special nature that this game has, with the upcoming women's day which forms part of the day as well as the achievements of the team. "The support of the club is not just words but facts. We do it year after year. It is difficult to equal out football but we are not going to stop trying and another example is what will happen on Sunday." The ceremony finished with a photo on the pitch at the stadium.
