Sevilla FC was present as the City Council of Seville welcomed Olga Carmona, product of the club's academy and recent winner of Women's World Cup with the Spanish national team. President, José Castro, Amparo Gutiérrez and some of her old Sevilla teammates  attended the ceremony at the Salón Colón. Her current club, Real Madrid, were represented by Emilio Butragueño.

The mayor, José Luis Sanz, announced plans to put forward the proposal to award Olga with the medal of the city of Seville at the next plenary session on 30th May 2024. He also revealed that the Seville East Sports Centre will be named after her subject to approval at the aforementioned session. The forward expressed her delight in a speech that showed her emotion and Sevillian roots: "My story has appeared in a thousand places. I started playing football at six years old in Sevilla Este with my two brothers because at that time it was hard to find teams for girls. A bit later I was given the opportunity to trial at Sevilla FC and it was here that  Amparo Gutiérrez played a huge role in my development. Thank you, Amparo, you gave me my chance to make it as a professional. It was you who would select me, even though I was the smallest player there. After that, I progressed through the ranks at Sevilla FC until reaching the Primera, which was an incredible and unforgettable experience.I then received my first under-19s call-up,going on to become European champion at that level. Not only am I gratefu to the clubs present today and all those who have played a part in my development, but also my colleagues, my friends and my family."

Thus, after her ovation at last Saturday's match against Girona, Sevilla FC wants to express once again the utmost gratitude and congratulations to Olga, a player who has written her name in bold in the history books of Spanish women's football.
