Quique Sánchez Flores was left disappointed with the late defeat to Cádiz CF. After the game he stated, "We played well during the opening 20 minutes, controlling posession and winning the second ball. But from that point onwards we became too open at the back. They had two big chances and then we looked a bit nervous and timid. It all became a bit of a mess. The way Cádiz played put us under pressure. They were a lot more organised than us."

Despite having chances to win the game, our head coach was not happy with the performance. "Even if we had scored with that counter-attack and went on to win the game, it wouldn't have been the game that we wanted nor the manner of victory that we had planned. A big part of our recent success has been the togetherness of the group, playing as a team not as individuals. We have been playing with good organisation and discipline. But when we don't play like that, we become a very open and weak team that anyone can beat."

"We started well, but then it all became a bit of a mess"

Sánchez Flores admitted that it might be difficult to find motivation for the final two games of the season. "Those who play will be those who want to play and get stuck in. Professional sport does not forgive complacency. If you're not prepared to give 100%, others will be and they will be the ones that succeed. I recognise the massive effort that the players have put in to help us avoid a tense end to the season. But the current situation is complex. After five tough months, we have to pick ourselves back up for one final push."

Finally, he talked about Jesús Navas, who made his 500th LaLiga appearance. "He's tired. Towards the end you could see that he was flagging. So that's why we brought Juanlu on. We thought he could help us with his fresh legs and youth. We made the changes that we thought were necessary, but it's worth mentioning that we have lost five important players to injury. That has not helped us."
