The Colombian Muriel, who returned to Machín starting lineup in La Liga, analysed the match against Real Sociedad: 'An important draw that helps us to stay in the mix at the top. Not losing at a difficult ground like the Anoeta gives us confidence. The team are in good form, competing well and staying strong in defence. the match was positive for us, especially the defensive solidity.'

'We know the results of those teams that are supposedly the big teams. We continue down the same road of playing good matches. Now we have important matches at home to continue fighting for the European places. Both Promes and I play in a similar way, we both like to drop deep to receive the ball. We operate deeper and we need to cover the area inside the box better. We'll improve by working together. We have to make sure that the team isn't weakened when there are changes on the pitch.'

With regards to the offensive style shown in the match, the forward commented that 'they made us play a lot down the wings by having their defensive line very high, because of this we weren't able to get in the box very often. We tried to look for opportunities. In the second-half, we were close to doing it on the counter.'
