On Tuesday night, Sevilla FC beat Levante UD in the Copa del Rey Round of 32 by 3-1, with the goals coming from Fernando, Ocampos and Óliver Torres. The latter of those names scored his goal in the 78th minute of the game, after taking advantage of good work from De Jong. The Sevilla FC number 21 was one of the stand-out performers of the match, and made sure of the win for home side to secure their passage into the next round. Overall, it was a superb 90 minutes of football from the man from Navalmoral de la Mata. The centre-midfielder arrived at Sevilla FC last summer, transferring from FC Porto and he has continued his progression and to mature wearing the white and red of Sevilla FC.

Óliver, who had already scored against Escobedo in the previous round, became (after this match in Escobedo) only the second Sevilla player this season (after Franco Vázquez) to score at least once in all the competitions which Sevilla FC have participated in. Last night, in the cup game against Levante UD, he played his 25th game for the club. In this time, he has scored four times (Qarabag, Eibar, Escobedo and Levante) and given two assists (Getafe and Dudelange).

In his first 25 games as a Sevilla FC player, Óliver has scored four times and assisted twice (scoring in all 3 competitions too)

In his quarter of a century games that he has racked up, he has played a total of 1,505 minutes - completing the full 90 on three occasions. In the Copa del Rey fixture versus Levante, the young midfielder gave what was probably his best performance of the season, being dominant in everything he did, breaking from midfield and looking for the pass in between the lines to the strikers, and it's a position in which the former Porto player feels most at home on the football pitch. He showed his happiness in the mixed zone after the game, by saying that "when the team plays this well, it improves all the individual performances".

On Saturday, and as well as Éver Banega being ruled out through suspension for accumulating a set amount of yellow cards, Óliver could be given another opportunity to showcase his talents in the game against Granada CF. Moreover, what is not in doubt is that progression that Sevilla's number 21 is making, and it's something which Julen Lopetegui is making the most of. If one thing is for sure, it's that Óliver Torres is going about his business silently and subtly.
