Now well into September and with the usual league break for international fixtures, Sevilla will return to competition next Sunday at 20:45 CEST against Getafe CF. It will not be an ordinary return for the squad in terms of the number of matches. They are the squad who have played the most competitive matches so far and the load will continue to increase.

With ten matches so far in 39 days, Sevilla will play a total of seven matches in barely twenty-two days until they welcome Celta to the Ramón Sáncehz-Pizjuán on the 7th October. These include two group stage games for the Europa League, with the visit of Standard Liège on 20th September and the first away trip to Krasnodar on Thursday 4th October.

Sevilla will have played 20 matches by the end of October, double the number of most other teams

Thus taking the ten matches played so far by Sevilla as a reference, when the majority of teams in La Liga reach their tenth game, the Sevilla squad will have already ticked off their twentieth competitive game, double the number, for example, of their opposition for that match, SD Huesca, who will visit the Sánchez-Pizjuán on the weekend of 28/29th October.

The fixtures to be played by Pablo Machín's men until November are: Getafe, Standard Liège Levante, Real Madrid, Eibar, Krasnodar, Celta, Barcelona, Akhisarspor and Huesca.
