SEVILLA FC TO SPEND THE SECOND HALF OF THE PRESEASON IN DALLAS

Sevilla FC will spend the second half of the preseason in Dallas in the American state of Texas. The team will arrive in America on 16 July and will play in the FC Dallas Summer Classic 2019 one day later against the MLS club, FC Dallas. In addition to this game, they will play a third half lasting of 45 minutes against North Texas Soccer Club, FC Dallas’ second side from the USL League One, with the intention of supporting the growth of youth football in Texas.

Joining the MLS in 1996, FC Dallas has been a stalwart in American football, with two Lamar Hunt US Open Cups in their trophy cabinet - winning one in 1997 and the other in 2016 – and the MLS Supporters’ Shield in 2016. Their stadium, the Toyota Stadium, was one of the first stadiums created in America specifically for football and has a capacity of 21,193.

The president of FC Dallas, Dan Hunt, spoke of his delight to be playing against Sevilla FC: ‘This is a superb chance for everyone in DFW to see a La Liga great in the inaugural FC Dallas Summer Classic.' We’re looking forward to providing more opportunities for our FC Dallas fans and season-ticket holders to experience friendlies against elite teams from across the globe right here at Toyota Stadium,’ he went on to say. The delight is shared by Sevilla FC: ‘We are thrilled to announce this soccer match against FC Dallas. This is a great kick-off to our 2019 America Tour. We’re committed to giving our fans around the region a chance to experience Sevilla FC,’ said Sevilla FC’s president, José Castro.

After the game against FC Dallas, the team will play 45 minutes against their second side, North Texas Soccer Club

Dallas and Boston

During their stay in Texas, Sevilla FC will stay in Frisco, the metropolitan area of Dallas, and will train in the advanced facilities of the Toyota Soccer Center which is located beside the Toyota Stadium which boasts of 17 football pitches, the vast majority natural grass.

During this part of the preseason, the team will travel to Boston to face Liverpool FC on 21 July in Fenway Park. One day later, the squad will return to Dallas to continue with the preseason before returning to Sevilla on 24 July.
