SEVILLA FC MOST EXPERIENCED TEAM IN YOUTH LEAGUE GROUP

Experience is relative, even in football. And though only a youth squad, Sevilla FC's youth team are eager to show professionalism in their third consecutive UEFA Youth League competition and make a statement for Sevilla FC. The squad will be one of the most experienced of the competition. Just like the First-Team, Dimas Carrasco's side will compete in Group E with Spartak Moscow, Liverpool FC and NK Maribor.

Amongst their opponents, only two will know what to expect from the Group Stages. The English side qualified in 2013/14 when the format was identical to that of the Champions League. In that campaign, the Reds youth team - now managed by Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard - came second in the group on the same number of points as FC Basel and Real Madrid, but were knocked out by Benfica in the knock-out stages. Maribor, meanwhile, had a bitter-sweet debut in next year's campaign, failing to pick up a point against Chelsea, Schalke or Sporting Lisbon who made up their group.

Spartak de Moscú have competed in the competition, but with the new 2015/16 format. They did so as Youth Champions of Russia and played four matches. In the first knock-out match, they beat Ravan Baku FK comfortably (4-0) but came up against Ajax in their second knock-out match, who won the first-leg in Moscow 0-3 and finished the job by winning 2-1 in Holland. Coincidentally, the Amsterdam side were Sevilla FC's opponents in the play-off rounds.
