Sevilla FC are already in Turkey just over a year after their last visit, which was for the Playoff of the Champions League in August 2017 against Istanbul Basakeshir. This time the team landed further down south, more specifically in the city of Izmir, which has the closest airport to Akhisar, in the province of Manisa.

The president José Castro led the travelling cohort accompanied by his advisors Juan Luis Villanueva, José Luis Moscoso, Rafael Carrión, Pedro Ellauri, Faustino Valdés, Enrique de la Cerda and Ramón Somalo. Among the sporting staff, the director of football Joaquín Capparós travelled with the team. The flight, which also carried fifty fans, took four hours, touching down in Izmir at 14:30 local time - two hours ahead of Spain.

The team, who will stay in the city of Manisa, will see the Ajhisar Stadyumu for the first time at 18:00 CET (eight o'clock in the evening in Turkey) when they have their official training session. Half an hour ahead of that there will be an official press conference with Pablo Machín and Sergio Escudero.
