Sergi Gómez started Saturday's game in the win over Granada CF in Nervión. The Sevilla FC centre-back first of all said that "the team was very aware of the fact we were coming up against an opponent who were going to cause us problems". Moreover, he spoke about the squad: "we know how tricky each game is and this means we have to give our all in every game".

Gómez also evaluated the team's upcoming matches: "There's a lot of important games coming up and each game is key in continuing to fight for our objectives". Continuing on this same line, he didn't hide the ambitions that the team has: "We, as a team, are ambitious, and we have a clear idea in our heads of how we want to play; which is to create as much space as possible so that the strikers can score and create goals".

To finish off, he spoke about the Copa del Rey: "We've already had difficult games in the Copa, but we've overcome them by leaving our excuses at the door. It's a fantastic competition and we're programmed to give it the importance that it deserves, and taking it seriously because that's what it merits".
