Much has been said about the defensive strengths of Julen Lopetegui's Sevilla FC. Of course, these numbers are very good, but the manager has always stressed that his priority is attacking well and defending wellwithout prioritising either. So, now it is time to highlight the team's attacking efforts. With the match between Real Madrid and Alavés yet to be played, Sevilla FC are the second highest scorers in the second half of the season

In the first half of the season, the Nervionenses scoring 24 times in 19 matches, a figure which was beaten on Monday when Ocampos scored against Eibar, the 25th goal in the second half of the LaLiga season. With the two goals in Biscay on Thursday night the team now have 271.7 goals per game. Compared with 1.3 per game in the first half of the season, and an overall average of 1.45 per game, it is clear that the Andalusians are improving in front of goal

Sevilla overtook their record from the first half of the season by scoring against Eibar

There is just one team who have found the back of the net more often than Sevilla FC in the second half of the season. That team is FC Barcelona, who have 30 goals, 3 more than Julen Lopetegui's side. Real Madrid trail Sevilla by one goal, but have played one game less. The next teams on the list are Atlético de Madrid with 25, and Villarreal with 24. Much has been made of the 14 clean sheets this seasonbut it is worth highlighting the strength of their attack too, failing to score in just 3 matches in the league this season - both matches against FC Barcelona and the home match against Real Madrid.

Four points from three matches are needed to secure qualification for the Champions Leagueregardless of what Villarreal do. A goal that, without doubt, seems very close based on the numbers so far this season.
