Cuerpo Superior

Sevilla Atlético suffered their first defeat of the season against a tough opponent who was recently relegated from the Silver Division, and are firm favourites to be promoted this season. Sevilla improved as the game went on, but two goals at the end of both halves were enough to seal the win for the home team.

Castellón started the game better and were attacking from the very first whistle, and Sevilla Atlético struggled early on in the game, but eventually started to have more possession on the ball. Paco Gallardo's team also made it difficult for the home team to have any real chance on goal. Pablo Pérez was also a threat for Sevilla, who made the most of the space on the ball due to Castellón pushing up in the Sevilla half. The left-back was an offensive threat and always tried to find Iván Romero, who was closely marked by the home team's defenders in the first half.

Cuerpo Inferior

Mario Barco had space on the edge of the box with a powerful shot on goal to test Alfonso, who had quick reactions to avoid conceding the first goal of the game. In one of the best attacking chances of the match for Sevilla, Iván Romero was not able to find the back of the net in a passage of play which then led to the home side opening the scoring. Kandoussi scored the first goal of the game, which ultimately put Sevilla Atlético on the back foot.

Alfonso made a big save after a powerful shot on goal from the home team

Sevilla Atlético grew in confidence in the second half. The away team worked hard to try and level the scoring, but Castellón maintained their strong defensive line which made it hard for Sevilla to find an equaliser. Despite the home team already being a goal to the good, they continued to show their attacking threat with a chance from a corner that hit the woodwork.

After the water break, Sevilla Atlético continued to work tirelessly to find the equaliser. Pedro Ortiz's individual play at the edge box silenced the home side and forced a save from the goalkeeper. However, Cubillas put an end to any hopes of finding an equaliser with a strong header that Alfonso could do nothing about. Sevilla Atlético will next face Atlético Sanluqueño in the third league game of the season.
