Born in Cartagena in 1997Rafa Mir began his footballing career at the academy of FC Barcelona. After a spell at La Masía, he spent time at the academies of both Real Murcia and Valencia CF. He made his first team debut for Valencia CF in November 2015, just two weeks after his first start with the reserves, in a 2-0 loss against Zenit in the UEFA Champions League Group Stage, his first of three first-team appearances that season. The following season, that number increased to five, but he was a key part of the reserve sidescoring eight goals and setting up five as they reached the promotion play-offswhere he scored again. That caught the eye of Championship side Wolverhampton Wanderers, who signed him in January 2018. He made four appearances in that half seasonsplit equally between the Championship and the FA Cup

He joined Wolves in the 2017/18 season

The following season, he was loaned to UD Las Palmas as he sought a starting placewhich he found with 30 matches in LaLiga SmartbankHe picked up seven goals and an assist. That form brought a return to England in the 2019/20, with a loan move to Nottingham Forest, also in the Championship. After thirteen goalless matches in all competitions with Forest, Rafa Mir moved back to LaLiga Smartbank with another loanthis time to SD Huesca. This was a much more fruitful spell, with nine goals and an assist in 18 appearances helping the team from Aragón to the LaLiga Smartbank title

The striker extended his loan with Huesca for the 2020/21 season. Mir's best goalscoring campaign of his career came that season, scoring 13 goals and setting up another in 38 LaLiga Santander outings, including a hat-trick away at Real Valladolid. His only Copa del Rey appearance of the season, against Marchamalo, saw another hat-trick, giving him 16 in all competitions.

Mir scored 13 LaLiga goals for SD Huesca last season, the best goalscoring return of his career

On the international stage, he has five goals in ten matches for Spain U21, and won the U21 EURO 2019 in Italy. He also made one friendly appearance for Spain U23 before the Olympic Games in Tokyo, where he particularly shone against Ivory Coast in the Quarter Finals. He was brought on as a 92nd minute substitute, and levelled the tie just seconds later. That goal sent the match to extra time, where he added a further two to complete a hat-trick. He would go on to become a silver medallist after the final loss against Brazil
