Matchday 28 in La Liga has come for Sevilla FC, only three days after, as has been usual this season, a win against Elche CF at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán. The Nervionenses have travelled to Valladolid to play the last league game before the first international break of the year. Sevilla will be looking to round off a week of three league wins: since last Sunday, Sevilla have overcome Real Betis in El Gran Derbi and Elche during the week.

Sevilla arrive in Pucela in fourth place in the league with the last two wins cementing their place in the Champions League zone. Julen Lopetegui's men find themselves on 54 points, nine ahead of Real Sociedad in fifth place. In the last fixture before the international break, Sevilla could extend that gap to over ten points should they come out on top of Valladolid and Sociedad slip up against FC Barcelona.

Sevilla FC will be looking for their third win in a row and Real Valladolid their sixth match unbeaten

Real Valladolid welcome Sevilla sitting seventeenth in the league with twenty-six points. They sit three points above Deportivo Alavés in the relegation zone. Sergio González' men are on a run of one win and three draws in their last five matches. Valladolid have not gone four matches unbeaten in the league since the end of last season in July.

Sevilla FC coach Julen Lopetegui reminded in his pre-match press conference that 'Real Valladolid are one of the strongest teams in that section of the table,' while also saying 'they have talent and options in all positions. They have a very complete squad and are well coached.' Julen confirmed the team would wait until the match to decide who can play: 'We need to let some time go by and analyse how every player is feeling before the game.' Sevilla can welcome back Diego Carlos and Joan Jordán who missed out on the win against Elche through suspension.

The match will be played this Saturday 20 March at the José Zorrilla at 21:00 CET. Estrada Fernández will referee the match and will be assisted by Cordero Vega on VAR duties.
