After the victory in the Champions League against Stade Rennais, Sevilla FC return to domestic action, looking to maintain the momentum of Wednesday night. After defeats against Granada CF and SD Eibar, and the draw at the Camp Nou before the international break, the Nervionenses look to return to winning ways in La Liga against Athletic Club.

Sevilla FC arrive in Bilbao with seven points after five games played, two fewer than the majority of the league, with the team 13th in the table. Sevilla return to the San Mamés after four months, a game in which the team managed to turn around and win, sealing Champions League qualification and ending a run of nine straight league defeats in Bilbao.

Athletic Club welcome Sevilla FC to Bilbao with a point less in the league

The home side welcome Sevilla to Bilbao a little bit more worried with their situation, with the Basques having only picked up six points from six games, leaving them 16th in the league. Gaizka Garitano's side have two wins and four losses. Like Sevilla, Athletic Club are coming off a loss in La Liga. Garitano must manage the same injuries the side has had for a while, with De Marcos out in defence, Ibai and Nolaskoain in the midfield and Kodro up front, with Íñigo Córdoba a new injury worry.

Julen Lopetegui called up a squad of 22 for the game, with the recently recovered Jules Koundé available. Suso, Sergi Gómez and Idrissi have not made the trip. In the pre-match press conference, Lopetegui underlined the need to give 100% against a team that 'has been preparing for us all week.' The manager warned that the team would not have as many chances as they did against Stade Rennais.

The game will be played on Saturday 31 October at 16:15 CET in the San Mamés. Del Cerro Grande will referee the match, while Martínez Munuera will assist him with VAR.
