Sevilla FC are in action for the final time this season on Sunday night, with a match against Deportivo Alavés at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán, which will also be the final match of the LaLiga season. The two sides have nothing to play forin terms of European qualification and relegationand will round off a historic season for not only football in general but particularly this league campaign, one which has been severely affected by COVID-19.

The Blanquirrojos, who secured their objective of Champions League qualification with five matches to spare, will look to end the season with a win, which would secure the club's highest ever points tally in LaLiga. The record tally, set in 2014/15 with Unai Emery at the helm, will be broken if Julen Lopetegui's men can beat the side from Vitoria and move on to 77 points. A win would also mean that Sevilla FC would have the second best home record in LaLiga this season, with 43 points. Only Atlético de Madrid have picked up more points at home, with 48.

Deportivo Alavés secured their top-flight status for another season last weekend

As for the visitors, Deportivo Alavés come into this match on the back of securing their top-flight status for another season. They managed to defeat Granada CF last weekend to rule out any possibility of relegation in a season where they had three coaches. The arrival of Javi Calleja last month has turned around the side's fortunes, and the team have picked up 15 points from 24 since the arrival of the ex-Villarreal coach. They won their last two matches, against Elche and Granada, which pulled them clear of a final-day relegation scrap.

During yesterday's pre-match press conference, Sevilla coach Julen Lopetegui stated that "we will go into the match with the motivation and desire to play a team that evolved and secured their safety with character". Lopetegui will be unable to call upon the services of two defenders tonight. Diego Carlos is suspended after his dismissal at La Cerámica last week, while Marcos Acuña is unavailable after he received his fifth booking of the campaign in the same match.
