Sevilla FC's manager, Julen Lopetegui gave his press conference this afternoon ahead of the visit to RCD Mallorca tomorrow. He started off by saying that "we're coming up against a Mallorca who are strong at home, who have beaten good sides like Real Madrid and Villarreal. They have good players who have spent many years together. They're going to demand a massive performance out of us. They attack well and know how to defend. They have quality players all over the park and it's no fluke that they won those games".
LOPETEGUI: "THEY'VE BEATEN BIG TEAMS IN THEIR STADIUM"
"We're going into the game full of ambition and excitement, with the willingness to win the match and beat our opponents. The fact that it's the last game of this year doesn't bother us, we have to be prepared for all games."
"We'll do our talking on the pitch, that's where games are won. Statistics are just statistics"
With respect to the fact that Mallorca have a better away record than home, Lopetegui stated that "it's just a statistic, it doesn't mean anything. What's going to help us tomorrow is what we do on the pitch, the rest is for everyone else to talk about. Speaking is very easy to do; but we'll do our talking on the pitch, that's where games are won. We have pretty much won the same number of points both away from and at home ourselves. The league is a 38 game marathon and there's still a long way to go. We're only focused on tomorrow's opponent and the three points up for grabs".
Lopetegui finished off by saying that the only thing he wants from Santa Claus is a win tomorrow in Mallorca: "We haven't made any sort of list. The only thing we want are the three points tomorrow. Nothing else matters to us. The only things that do are Mallorca, and being able to compete and being concentrated".
