The precursor to the Guadalquivir River derby served to put names and faces to the main participants in the Andalusian rowing classic, which can be traced back to 1960 and which after a break last year, will return to its normal format. At the start point at Muelle de las Delicias a new grandstand has been installed, a big screen to follow the races and a catering area for supporters. From 10:15 there will be promotion regattas and then there will be the four races with a coxed eight representing Sevilla FC and Real Betis. They will be contested in the veteran category (10:35) and youth men (11:15), in both cases over 1,000 metres. There will also be the women (12:00) and men (13:00) which will take place over 6,000 metres.

The Sevilla crew have four new faces compared to last year. The crew is made up of Mirson Camadro, who has Olympic experience from Tokyo and world sea rowing champion Jaime Canalejo. Patricio Rojas, a bronze medalist in the Rowing World Cup this year; the junior world champions Jorge Flavio Knabe, Juan Miguel Palomino and Pablo Moreno; the internationals Alejandro Vera, Antonio Díaz y Manuel Álvarez, as well as the vetran cox Jacobo Castiñeira. The reserve is Andrés Díaz.

The 55th Sevilla-Betis regatta is organised by the Andalucian Rowing Federation and keeps up its tradition of community work, in this case with the women's mothers cancer association AMAMA Sevilla and the Lions of Guadalquivir. In this way, a crowdfunding campaign has been started where you can donate to the aforementioned charity through the following link: kukumiku.com/proyectos/regata-amama-sevilla.
