Three goals and the three key men. Papu Gómez, Rafa Mir and Gonzalo Montiel spoke after the victory against Valencia CF in the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán. The first goalscorer, the Sevilla number 24, pointed out firstly that "the goal served to open up the game. We knew that we had to hurt them with our pressure and it was like this, the team played well, tired at the end because of the builld-up of games, but well. Valencia scored a goal but then we knew how to defend, the attitude and feeling that the team changed from the game against Real Sociedad, wanting to show that this is also the real Sevilla." He also added that "it is beautiful and especially when you score a goal and the fans fall over celebrating, it's spectacular. Now I will recover and do everthing as well as I can for the next game."

In the case of the attacker from Cartagena, he expressed his satisfaction with the performance, believing that it should serve to provide confidence for his teammates. "I am happy, the team has played very well and it has to give us confidence for all that is to come. Things are improving and this is what is important, we have a spectacular support at home and the feeling is very good." At the same time, he highlighted the fact that the team still has not tasted defeat: "Results are everything in football, the team still hasn't lost and we have to continue on this path. We have a very big squad and the important thing is that the team wins, the welcome has been spectular and this is important in such a long season like the one we have facing us.

To end, the debutant and goal scorer Gonzalo Montiel expressed his happiness about the performance of Wednesday night. "I am happy about the win and for the debut but I need to continue working. The important thing is that we scored three and it was a great welcome to score a goal. I train to continue developing and from there it's up to me to contribute. I adapted really quickly and I enjoy being beside Argentinians." In this way, he also wanted to highlight the encouragement of the Sevilla fans. It was quite full, the people pushed us on a lot and today I noticed it. The team won and before now we were working in the same way and we have to continue growing as a team."
