Rafa Mir, Marcos Acuña and Alex Telles spoke after the away defeat to Manchester City. With regard to the match, striker Rafa Mir said firstly that "I'm happy to score, but you leave with a sad feeling because it slipped away from us. We lacked decisiveness and against these sides you end up paying for it. The team put up a good fight, but as I say, decisiveness makes the difference."

"We're in a difficult moment, but we're convinced that we can improve, we have the derby next, where everything evens out and we're up for it, working to get a good result to give the fans something to cheer about. I was in this position when I started at Valencia, I'm happy to have performed well but it's bittersweet".

Marcos Acuña had the same attitude, as he highlighted the highs of the first half: "We had played a good first half, but it's Manchester City and we knew they were going to come forward. We tried to keep them at bay, but their goal came quickly. The substitution was a precaution, I always try to be there to help the team. We know what the derby in Seville is like and tomorrow we'll think about it, now it's time to mull over the game that just ended."

Alex Telles, was the final player who spoke to the club media, recognising his mistake from a self-critical point of view and trusting in the strength of the group: "We knew that after the first half Manchester City were very strong. I wasn't very good in the build up to the first goal, but we have to keep going. Mistakes cost you in big games, I've already said that I wasn't very good and from there we fell a little bit, but we have confidence in ourselves."

"On Sunday we have to give everything because it's an important match for us, I've already experienced many matches like this, I've heard a lot about the derby and we're going to go all out to win, preparing for the match with every tool in our arsenal".
