At the start of another week of trainingthe General Sporting Director, Monchi, has taken a look at how he sees the team for official media: "We're satisfied. The amount of work from the beginning is optimal. We have gone from less to more and both the predisposition of the group and the good work of the physical trainers is allowing us to advance at a mental, physical and technical-tactical level in all these phases".

The team continue to take steps forward with regards to the protocol, but the moment that they are most looking forward to is full squad training: "Little by little we're coming up to that moment which we're all waiting for, which is being able to train as a group. I hope this process lasts as little as possible because training collectively is the most real thing. At the end of it all, without friendlies and with the amount of time we were stopped, with the competition being so close, collective training sessions now seem key".

The date of return is closing in, something which Monchi applauds: "We've all pushed and fought for football to return. We're missing something important, which are fans, but the safety and health conditions hinder that and we have to approach it as something which isn't ideal, but necessary. I think it's everyone's triumph. Clearly LaLiga have backed it strongly and have led the way for all of us to push too. It's an achievement and an important step in order to return to normality".

Regarding his own feelings, at the moment they are very positive: "The players are very hungry, they're keen and very excited. They're all wanting the first league match to arrive and the predisposition of the group and that hunger to go into the restart as best they can, it looks good". And that's because the challenge is greater: "In LaLiga we have the excitement of defending third place, which would be an important achievement. Then, approaching the Europa League in the best way possible. We will see if we can train collectively soon because it will be tougher with so many matches. I know everyone is working for it and doing their bit so that it does happen and I hope it arrives soon".

To conclude, he wanted to settle the barbecue incident and he valued the regret of the players: "Those involved have publicly apologised, that's not easy. They made a thoughtless mistake and they have assumed responsibility for it. For me, the important thing is that they have apologised voluntarily. I think it's also an example of apologising at a moment in which we're all making mistakes. All this is new, it has caught us off guard and Sevilla, regarding compliance with the sporting protocols, both from the National Sports Council and LaLiga, I think we are being a model club. It's impossible to get a 10 but I think we are getting a 9.5. The important thing is there was a mistake which they recognised, and above all with the capacity they have had to apologise".
