A double satisfaction although with varying levels of excitement for Quincy Promes and Tomas Vaclík, both starters and influential during the last 90 minutes of the UEFA Nations League group stage. In the end, both teams accomplished their goals, Holland winning a place in the semi-finals, and the Czech Republic remain in League B for at least another tournament.

Holland needed at least one point in Gelsenkirchen against the already relegated Germany to snatch the top spot away from France and join Portugal, England and Switzerland in the semi-finals of the Nations League. However, Werner and Sané's goals in the first 20 minutes made things almost impossible for Koeman's team. Even so, Promes reignited their hope five minutes from the end with a great goal from the edge of the box and van Dijk completed the turnaround at the death to take first spot in the group.

Tomas Vaclík returned to the Czech Republic's starting XI after being on the bench for the friendly in Poland, and the Czechs finished with a smile too, although in less dramatic fashion. They were playing for their spot in League B in Prague against Slovakia and, just like with Holland, a draw was enough to seal it once Ukraine had secured first spot in the group. In the end, the home team decided to avoid any surprises and won with a goal from Schick, which sends Slovakia to League C. Both Promes and Vaclík will return to Sevilla on Tuesday and will be the first internationals to be ready to return to training in preparation of Real Vallodolid's visit.
