This was a decisive match. Three points were vital to take advantage of the matches between rivals this weekend. However, Sevilla FC are still looking for a second win since the restart after only managing a draw against Real Valladolid. Just as Sevilla found a rhythm, Olivas opened the scoring for Valladolid from a well-worked free kick. Lopetegui's men would equalise with seven minutes of normal time remaining from the penalty spot.

The Nervionenses had been warned about the difficulty of a side like Real Valladolid, who had made Atlético work hard for their win at the Wanda and had stopped Getafe at the Zorrilla in their last two matches. Valladolid started well and were very together early on, making it difficult to create chances. Ocampos had the first chance with a low drive that when narrowly wide, and Sevilla began to have their best spell of the match, testing Masip again with a De Jong header before Ocampos hit the bar from a Navas cross.

Valladolid were trying to win possession in the middle of the park but did not unsettle Vaclík. However, their first chance went inA long-range free kick from Míchel was headed home by Olivas, who had broken away from Fernando. A tough blow for Sevilla, who were barely able to respond in the 20 minutes that remained in the first half. In fact, neither side went close for the remainder of the half

Lopetegui responded at the break, like he did on Monday at Villarreal, bringing on Jordán and Suso for Fernando and De Jong. Although Sevilla did improve with Ocampos changing wings and the substitution of Suso, Valladolid continued to stand firm. Every ball into the area was cleared by their backline, apart from one cross from Navas which was headed home by MunirHowever, the goal was ruled out after a length VAR delay as Munir's foot was offside.

A golden chance which did not count in the end, but Sevilla continued to look for the equaliser with En Nesyri on the pitch. The side had to wait, but Koundé's header ended up between the body of En Nesyri and Javi Sánchez's armsPizarro Gómez blew for the penalty, which Ocampos calmly converted. A big chance for Sevilla to take all three points, but it was Valladolid who came closest to scoring after the equaliser.

The first chance from Rubén Alcaraz was huge. He ran down the left unchallenged and fired towards goal but Vaclík turned it away for a corner. Ünal also tested the Czech goalkeeper a few minutes later. In the end, a point which does not feel good, and its value will be determined by results this weekend in Matchday 32. The next match, a trip to Leganés on Tuesday.
