Sevilla FC will be in the hat for the draw for the last 16 of the Copa del Rey, but they did need extra time to beat CD Leganés at the Wanda Metropolitano. The Pepineros managed to take the tie to extra time, with few chances in the first 90 minutes. The best chances fell to the Blanquirrojos, with Idrissi and Aleix Vidal going close. In extra time, Ocampos took advantage of a wonderful ball from Óliver Torres to go one-on-one with Riesgoand he calmly rolled the ball past the keeper to send Julen Lopetegui's men into the next round

The first half was a very quiet affair, with very little of interest happening for either side, apart from a few shots which sailed harmlessly over the barShibasaki had one of those chances for hostswhile Óliver Torres did so for the Nervionenses, but neither Bono nor Riesgo were troubled by any of the efforts. The forty five minutes were largely played out in the middle of the park, with Sevilla FC having more possessionand CD Leganés defending deepand not allowing the Blanquirrojos to have any clear-cut chances.

Idrissi and Aleix Vidal had big chances to put the Nervionenses into the lead

However, the second half was completely different. In barely fifteen minutes, Sevilla FC had three huge chances to break the deadlock at the Wanda Metropolitano. Aleix Vidal was the one who threatened most after the break, as he had one shot deflected wide for a corner, before having an even bigger chance from a Jordán crossbut Riesgo saved his header. Between those chance, Idrissi and Munir had combined perfectly on the leftallowing Idrissi to have an effort on goalbut Riesgo got down quickly to his left to deny the Moroccan's driven shot.

After that spell of chancesCD Leganés grew into the game, and, in the final fifteen minutes of time, began to test Bono, who had been a mere spectator up until this point. Sabin Merino had a chance on the leftbut Diego Carlos made a vital intervention to keep the scores level. A minute later, from a corner, Pep Martí's side had another shot at Bono's goal, but the keeper had no problem keeping the ball out. The match, with no more chances before the full time whistle, headed for extra time.

Óliver's perfect ball found Ocampos, who beat Riesgo with a right-footed effort

Sevilla FC began extra time focused on scoring as soon as possible to secure the win, after finding themselves having to play another half an hour. The goal came within five minutes. Óliver Torres fed Lucas Ocampos in down the leftwho broke into the box and found himself one-on-one with the keeperHe rolled the ball into the far corner, scoring the winning goal and breaking his duck for open-play goal this seasons. Bono then had his biggest scare of the match in the second half of extra timeas Rubén Pardo tried to score from the halfway line. The Moroccan was practically underneath the crossbar when he kept the ball out. That was the final chance of the game, and the Nervionenses will be in the draw for the last 16 of the Copa del Rey.
