This Tuesday morning, the deal between Sevilla FC and FC Porto for the loan (with option to buy) of Miguel Layún became official. After the Mexican international signed his contract with the club, he gave his first impressions of the Club to the press. On an individual level, he assured the press: "I've never skimped on personal achievements and aspirations. My aim is to fight, I know there are quality players but I want to contribute what I can, learn from all of them and show the best form of my life every day. I aspire to play as much as possible, manage to convince the fans and make this a long-term stay".

"Adapting to every position is something that has characterised my career"

Layún defined himself as a versatile player, who likes to play on the wing: "I play as a left-back and right-back... I mainly do my job at full-back but I have played in other positions too, including when I played in a knock-out tie against Dortmund as a centre-back... Adapting to every position is something that has characterised my entire career. Above all I feel most comfortable on the wings. That's my home".

"There are certain objectives inherent at a big club like this, I don't need to be told about them"

Asked about what he's looking for at Sevilla, he acknowledged his challenge as "finishing the season as best as possible...There are objectives, that at a big club, are clear to me without having to enter into a discussion - to aspire to be in the Champions League spots, a position where this Club wants and deserves to be. We have the Copa del Rey semi-finals which, without a doubt, is a title that we all want to win and I hope we'll be able to achieve this".

"Speaking with Iker and other teammates, I'm curious to experience the atmosphere at home...I've heard that is it spectacular"

He finally admitted his excitement at the prospect of setting foot onto the Sánchez-Pizjuán, above all else because of what former Spanish teammates like Iker Casillas have told him: "Sevilla FC has a big reputation in Mexico. It's very well known by all of us but after I moved, talking with Iker and other teammates, I'm anxious to know that home atmosphere... They've told me it's a spectacular atmosphere and I'm anxious to experience it in the flesh".
