Jules Koundé started in France's draw against Portugal in the final match of Group FDidier Deschamps' side had to dig deep at the Puskas Arena in Budapest, but a point was enough for the French to reach the Round of 16 as group winners.

The Sevilla centre-back, who was on the pitch for the full 90 minutes, played at right-back on a night in which he had to work hard. In fact, Spanish referee Mateu Lahoz gave a penalty to Portugal on the hour mark after a handball by Koundé. The next match for France will be their Round of 16 tieagainst Switzerland at 21:00 CEST on Monday night in Bucharest, as they look to reach the quarter finals. The competition is in the middle of a brief pause, which will last until Saturday evening.
