The club may well have used this colour at some point throughout practically its entire history, but Sevilla FC have actually gone six years without wearing red in the UEFA Champions League. A strange fact, but the team have not worn red in the tournament in their last three seasons, 2020/21, 2017/18 and 2016/17. You have to go back to 2015/16, Emery's last season in the dugout, to find the club's last two matches in red in the UCL. In Matchday 2, they wore the red strip from the season before against Juventus in Turin, before wearing the kit from that seasonred and white stripes, away at Manchester City.

However, red is back tonight in Wolfsburg, and this will be the second time that the club have opted for redafter the win away at Getafe in LaLiga Matchday 2. In fact, the team had gone eighteen consecutive matches in Europe wearing white shirts and white shorts, with the only change being the use of either black, red or white socks. The trip to Dudelange in the UEFA Europa League in 2019 saw the team wear blue, while the last use of a red strip in Europe was in 2019 against Lazio

As for the hosts, Wolfsburg will wear their home strip, as they did in the opening match away at Lille. The kit is all-greenbut with a different tone to what they traditionally wear. As for the goalkeepers, the hosts will be in grey, while the Sevilla keeper will be dressed in black.
