José Castro attended the media in Turkey following the team's landing in Esmira airport: 'We come to win and keep first spot in the group. It's true Gonalons has not travelled because he had a temperature of over 40ºC and that we're missing two strikers, but it's also true that they weren't there for the match at home and we won 6-0. We've scored a lot of goals and only conceded two. I believe we have an obligation to win tomorrow and the squad to do so.'

The president evaluated the squad's effort and the manager's drive: 'Since September we've had at least three players injured and even so we're third in the league, first in our group in the Europa League and we keep going forward. I was told on the plane that the manager was asking for more players and it's good he's damning, that's what we like and marries with this club's idiosyncrasies. We don't want submission, the manager is a winner and has always shown that attitude. If we can improve we will do so, but we'll go step by step until the market opens.'

Asked about Machín’s spirit, he said that ‘it doesn’t surprise me because we already knew about it, and when he speaks with that conviction changes the direction of the conversation when necessary, he’s just doing what a professional has to do. He knows where he is and he demands what he demands in order to be at the top, knowing that there are expectations for him and we like that level of meticulousness. Finally, he preferred not to elaborate on the rumours of a possible return for Alberto Moreno: ‘There’s no point of speaking about any player, because time has shown us that you have to talk once things are finalised and at the right time.’
