Sevilla FC's president, José Castro, attended the media upon the team's arrival in Fiumicino airport in Rome: 'It's going to be a tough tie. They're a tough team but we are also the team who has won the competition the most times,' he commented regarding the tie.

'Maybe we're not in the best run of form but we come to life in this tournament and I'm sure we'll come back with a great result. It's not the best moment of the season but we managed to turn a similar situation around in September, we weren't the best team in La Liga back then and neither are we the worst now. We are confident the team will improve and get back to its level,' he said regarding the team's form.

'Our goal in this competition is always the most ambitious one - win it'

Regarding Sevilla's recent performances away from home, the president stated 'it's all relative. A few seasons ago we didn't win a single game outside the Sánchez-Pizjuán and we ended up winning the Europa League. Logically you play better at home with your fans but we're just going through a phase. We will get back on track.'

'Our goal in this competition is always the most ambitious one - win it. It won't be easy but this is our competition and we are going to try and win it, without a shadow of a doubt,' he finished regarding the club's aspirations in their favourite tournament.
