José Castro wanted send a message to the fans through the media just after arriving in Seville from Madrid: "Well we can only apologise to the fans for yesterday. We were all very excited and we didn't measure up - the team didn't show intensity nor conviction. As Chairman I have to apologise to all Sevillistas. The Board will take measures it deems necessary to try and help in these last five matches we have to qualify for Europe. We will see what decisions to take but it's the moment to be calm and to think about what's best for the Club".

On Nzonzi, he was also clear: "The Club has fixed behavioural policies and we will apply them because it was not the most appropriate thing on a day like yesterday. He's apologised and I have nothing else to say". Questioned about possible decisions that might need to be taken, he assured: "We're in contact with Montella and our coaches, worried about the situation. We will continue talking but experience tells me we need to be calm, get through Monday and on Tuesday we will see what decisions are to be taken".

He didn't hide his anger, just like most Sevillistas: "It's a season of highs and lows. We can't be happy because we didn't compete yesterday and if you don't do so in such an awaited and anticipated final, you can't be happy. I'm not either. Everything went badly yesterday and sometimes you can lose but not like that. We're all angry and that's why as Chariman I apologise once again to fans that travel with us, lift us and are always there. It's a day to keep our heads down, work, keep trying and take note of everything we've done badly so it doesn't happen again".
