The Sevilla FC president José Castro, as has always been the tradition prior to the pandemic, spoke to the media after he had made a floral offering on behalf of Sevilla at the San Benito brotherhood in the La Calzada neighbourhood. "Thanks to God, after two years of not being able to come, normality has returned. The weather seems that it has not come out for us but we are here with one of the biggest brotherhoods in the neighbourhood." the Sevilla president began by saying.

Moving on to football, José Castro said that "the most important thing is health and from this successes will come. This year we have been unlucky with injuries. I have heard in recent days that we are conformists... I don't know where this has come from. We are always looking up. There are seven games left and we want to achieve our best. Our aim in the league is Champions League qualification as I have always said. From there we want to finish as high as possible."

"I am convinced that we can win on Sunday. They always have this game in their diary as one of the most difficult"

On the team's position in the league and the upcoming visit of Real Madrid, the president commented that "we have lost second place because of the six or seven games that we haven't won - that is the reality. We have missed players, we have lacked that final bit of quality sometimes, and there have been refereeing mistakes. But we have a good team and we can get can back there. I am convinced that we can win on Sunday. They always have this game in their diary as one of the most difficult. I trust the players a lot. They are really important to me and they perform well. I hope that the refereeing decisions are correct so that we all have the same chances. Looking at others is to lose a bit of spirit and force. You always have to look up."

The Sevilla FC president was also asked about refereeing performances. "I am worried about commenting on refereeing, we are seeing inconsistencies. These days we play a lot. I hope that there will be consequences and that it will be the players that decide games with their mistakes and their skill, not the referees. VAR can't begin to re-referee games. It has been an atypical season with referees and I hope that Medina Cantalejon, who is extremely professional, will be sorting out these situations."

"Overall it is shown by wins and seven games remain to finish where we have deserved to throughout the whole of the season"

To finish, José Castro highlighted in terms of the squad that "we have a magnificent squad and I'm not the only one to say it. We have put in a great effort. La Liga is very competitive and it is very difficult to win any game. We play well sometimes and others worse, but overall it is shown by wins and seven games remain to finish where we have deserved to throughout the whole of the season. In terms of Martial, it is not easy. He came from another league and he came in a difficult moment for the team but he has a lot of quality and I am sure he will help us in this final run-in" he finished off by talking about the French striker.
