The ceremony, headed by the Vice President of Seville's provincial government, Carmen Calvo, took place at the government's office

Joaquín Caparrós has been awarded the Medal of the Province of Seville for his incredible professional career. In a ceremony taking place in the headquarters of the Seville regional government, Caparrós was one of the six prize winners, alongside the journalists María José García and Pedro Preciado, the singer Esperanza Fernández, the footballer Joaquín Sánchez, and the recently passed away Ángel Peralta.

The ceremony, headed by the Vice President of the government, Carmen Calvo, and the President of the council, Fernando Rodríguez Villalobos, was followed by interviews with the press with the prize winners. Joaquín Caparrós expressed his pride in the award, especially given his sense of belonging to the province having been born in Utrera. Sevilla FC's president, José Castro, attended the ceremony on behalf of the club.
