Sevilla FC completed their last training session of the week this morning as the team head off on a break until Monday during this international week. After training, Aleix Vidal, who remains at the club and will wear the number 17 shirt, spoke with the Club's media at the training ground and discussed his desire to return to the team. The Catalan began by stating 'I am very happy. This summer was more difficult than it was busy, it was hard to train apart from the guys until the questions over my future were resolved. I wanted to be with them, and my priority was always to remain at the club. I will always respect the Club's wishes, thankfully it's turned out the way I wanted it and now I'm going to fight to be at the level I want to be at and help the team.'

'I'm a happy person and even more so here. I've trained hard during the summer. The team is at a whole new level now but I've always prided myself on my fitness and I'm sure I'll soon be up to speed with my teammates,' added Aleix regarding his future at Sevilla FC.

'My intention was to stay here and help the team. I'm very happy and want to give my best'

The full-back spoke about his conversations with Monchi and Lopetegui: 'These things get talked about during the summer. When the window is coming to its end you have to evaluate these things. I'm fully confident in the role I can play for the team and I prefer that to leaving. They also chose for me to stay here and now I have to get ready as soon as possible. As a footballer you always have to be prepared, you never know where you're going to end up. My intention was to stay here and help the team and although training apart from the group wasn't the nicest situation for me personally, I'm happy with the decision that's been taken and I will give my best.'

Aleix Vidal leaves behind a difficult personal moment and he underlined his joy to be feeling back to normal: 'I've spoken about it with my friends and family. After I came back from Barcelona, I had a difficult time in my life and that affects you out on the pitch. I wasn't enjoying things and I was getting injured a lot, I wasn't the same player I was. Thankfully it worked out, I went to Vitoria and I think I had a great season and this season I'm back to the old Aleix Vidal, full of desire. People who know me know what I'm like and I'm feeling food. Everything has worked out for the best. I think I played well at Vitoria and I intend to do the same this season.'

'Everything has worked out and I'm feeling good. I'm back to being the old Aleix Vidal and I'm full of desire'

'This season will be different from the one I had with Machín. Time puts everything in its place. The most important thing is to feel good personally and I'm ready for my opportunity. The fans know exactly what I can offer and that's what I'm working to do,' Vidal finished.
