Sevilla FC and CA San Lorenzo de Almagro have reached an agreement for the signing of centre-back Federico Gattoni on a four-year deal.

The transfer will go through on 1st July 2023, with the 24-year old defender staying at San Lorenzo a loan basis until 30th June.

Gattoni has spent his entire career at Los Santos, after joining the club's academy aged just seven. He went on to make his first-team debut in October 2020, with a man-of-the-match performance in the League Cup against Argentinos Juniors.

He went on to play ten matches in that competition that season, and scored his first senior goal away at CA Aldosivi.

However, it was in the following season that saw the youngster break into the senior squad, as he made his first appearances in the league, the Copa Libertadores and the Copa Sudamericana. Unfortunately, a back injury ruled him out for three months.

Despite the setback, he made seven appearances in the league, nine in the League Cup, three in the Copa Libertadores and another three in the Copa Sudamericana. Once again, he bagged a goal in the League Cup.

Gattoni then became a key player in the 2021/2022 season, and was made club captain. He was very nearly an ever-present in the league, featuring in 25 of 27 matches, and missed the other two due to suspension. He also scored for the first time in the league and added another three in the League Cup, including a brace against Unión de Santa Fe.

That season also saw his first appearances in the Copa Argentina, with eleven appearances before San Lorenzo were defeated by Racing Club. In the three league matches so far this season, Gattoni played the full 90 minutes against Arsenal de Sarandí.

On the international stage, he played for Argentina U20 at the L'Alcúdia International Under-20 Football Tournament in 2018, making two appearances. Lionel Scaloni, the current national team manager, took charge of the team in that competition.
