THE IFFHS LISTS SEVILLA FC AS THE EIGHTH BEST TEAM OF 2020 AND THE BEST SPANISH CLUB

The International Federation of Football History & Statistics, IFFHS, have published their rankings of the best clubs in the world. The list is based off the team's results taking into consideration the prestige and difficulty of each competition. Sevilla have been placed in eighth in 2020's list, just behind Bayern Munich, Palmeiras, PSG, Inter Milan, Manchester City, AC Milan, and Juventus.

The Nervionenses are therefore the highest Spanish representative in the list and the only La Liga team in the top 10, which is completed by two English teams, Manchester United and Arsenal. This is not the first time Sevilla have appeared in the ranking. In fact, they were listed as the best team in the world in both 2006 and 2007. That was the first time a club had led the list in two consecutive years since the rankings began in 1991. Only FC Barcelona has managed to repeat this feat in 2011 and 2012.

It is the third time in the last five years that Sevilla FC have appeared in the top 10 of the list, finishing eighth in 2016 and ninth in 2018.
