Chicharito Hernández has arrived and is eager to get going. The Mexican, who arrived last night, signed his contract this afternoon in front of numerous cameras at the training ground: "I have no doubts, only positive thoughts. I was speaking about it with my agent, about how it is a great opportunity. I know the responsibility that is required and I am excited. It's a pity that there's an international break now because I would have liked to get started straight away, but I am happy to be here because I like the project and the ambition of the club. That's why I chose to come here". If anything was made clear, it was his ambition to improve and grow: "I already know the demands of the team, of the club and what is demanded of me: that is to bring success. I am here to work hard and show the best version of myself on both a professional and personal level. I expect nothing less of myself, and neither do they. The ambition of this club is one that we can all get behind and it's something we want to show".

Miguel Layún is a close friend of his and he helped him decide on Sevilla: "I spoke with Miguel, we are in constant contact because our families are very close to one another. He worked under Lopetegui in Porto and he also played for Sevilla for six months. Last year, I came here for a weekend to visit the city and I instantly fell in love. People have always told me that it is a club like no other and I know that football, here, is treated like a religion". Speaking about the expectations, realistically he said: "I would love to say that I am going to score 70 goals and win loads of trophies, but it's on the pitch where you do your talking. This is the great thing about football, it's unpredictable and with this demand, I am going to give everything and enjoy it. I hope that this stage of my career is better than the other stage I've already spent in Spain. I will always give my all and give back the trust that has been shown in me. This excites me and makes me want to train and play well".

Full of motivation, but also fitness: "I'm in good shape, I'm going to go away with the national team and I know that it's a striker's job to score goals, and in my last game with West Ham I scored. I feel good and when I return I will dive fully into the tactics of the manager and learn how the team plays". Although he is 31 years old, he has no intention of stopping anytime soon: I always try to do things that are out of my comfort zone and we are going to work hard, and show the best version possible of ourselves to achieve great things. The most important thing is to win games and go far in all competitions. I see myself doing great things with this club".

"I always try to get out of my comfort zone and be the best I can be"

"I have always gone into matches with the same mindset ever since I made my debut. Whilst I am on the pitch, I will give it my all and enjoy myself. The rest of it is down to the manager, because I will adapt to what he wants. What I like is playing football and fighting to make things better. I have spent a day here and I don' know my teammates yet, but we're aiming to be the best we can be. That is what the fans demand and I could see that before I joined". He also made it clear that he wasn't going to be alone here: "I'm moving here with my family and I am going to enjoy living in this city. I know a lot of people who have lived here, and no one has a bad word to say about the place".

"This is a step up in my career. It's another step and a brilliant chance to enjoy myself and push myself to show that I am at a high enough level to play for the club. I've got the present in my hands and in the future I hope that I'll talk about what a fantastic time I spent here", he stated before finishing by talking about his previous spell in LaLiga: "Everyone in this room has grown a lot since 2014. It's life and I've played well at all my clubs. I've always tried to improve and it's a great opportunity for me here as they trust me and they made this effort to sign me".
