Sevilla and Daniel Carriço have reached an agreement for the extension of the centre-back's contract, who will now be committed to the club until June 2020. With this renewal, the Nervión club guarantees the presence of one of its captains, a changing-room leader, and an undisputable starter for the side barring injuries - which have limited his involvement in past campaigns.

Daniel Carriço has made 112 appearances for Sevilla FC in the four seasons he has completed in Nervión. On arrival in 2013, he became one of the bastions of Unai Emery's side, playing and winning three UEFA Europa League finals in 2014, 2015, 2016, as well as playing in the Copa del Rey final in 2016.

Carriço, who in his first campaign played as a centre-midfielder - eventually converting to centre-back at the start of his second - has played in 71 league matches, 29 Europa League matches, 8 Copa del Rey matches, 2 Champions League matches and 2 European Supercup matches, scoring a total of six goals.
