BONO: "THE TEAM NEEDED THAT WIN"

"I'm happy for my teammates as they competed in one of the toughest stadiums to do so"

Sevilla FC's goalkeeper, Bono, spoke to the club's media to talk about the win over Getafe: "It's a great win, the team needed this type of game. I think we knew how to handle our emotions as we were coming off a pretty poor spell. On a mental note, the team responded magnificently". He also spoke about how badly the team wanted to prove their worth: "We knew that we were going through a bad patch. In the difficult moments, we tried to find solutions to improve. You have these moments in football and you've got to accept this. Today's result will hopefully give us a spring in our step".

For Bono, the win will give the team a lot of confidence: "I think that today, we won because we competed well - not just in the way we want to play football that we always try to play. It was a different game today. The team showed character, showed that it could play another type of football as well because sometimes you have to do that. I'm delighted for my teammates because they competed in one of the toughest stadiums to do so".

Sevilla FC's 'keeper also spoke about the game in more depth: "We're a team who like to play out from the back. Today, we knew that we wouldn't be able to do so all the time. The team knew what they needed to do well and this was one of the keys to the game". Bono didn't hide the difficulty of coming on at half time off the bench: "At half-time Tomas said that he felt some discomfort in his knee. I went out to warm up to get ready for the game. It's tricky but the excitement gets you through it".

He also spoke of the good defensive work of the team: "We knew how to counter whatever Getafe wanted to do very well".
