Wissam Ben Yedder likes to keep things low-key, but his goal statistics speak volumes. With 8 shots on target, the striker is just a stone-throw away from becoming one of Sevilla's highest scoring players in the Champions League as he closes in on Kanouté and Luis Fabiano who scored 9 and 10 goals respectively. "Both are exceptional players and if I can be number one, I will be extremely happy. I consistently give it my all. I work hard because I know that I need to score a lot of goals, both in La Liga and the Champions League", he said in an interview with Sevilla FC press.

Ben Yedder needs goals, and so does Sevilla FC. However, the striker asked for patience: "I believe that the team is good, but we need to be patient because this year we have changed things around - it is a new team...Patience is important in football, we are going to work hard to gradually get better and better and show that we are a great team".

One of Sevilla FC's new players is Luis Muriel: "I believe that Muriel is a good player, but we are different. I think that since preseason we've almost always played separately...We've played only one or two matches together...If I have to play with him then that's fine and if I have to swap with him then that's also fine...What's important is that we all give it our best shot, because at the end of the day the team needs everyone".

We are going to do everything we can to become regulars in the Champions League

Ben Yedder also talked about his happiness for Steven N'Zonzi regarding his call-up for the French national side. “"I'm really happy for Steven N'Zonzi because he's having a great season, similar to his previous season with Jorge Sampaoli...I'm pleased because he's a player that needs the selection. I'm going to continue giving it my all because hard work is key in football", he stressed.

Questioned about the team's main aim, he commented: "I can't say anything at this moment in time because it is very difficult. The Champions League is the goal - we're going to do all that we can move up in the table and become regulars in the competition...If it's the Europa League, then it's the Europa League - but we are going to put everything into the Champions League because it's the best of the best".
