Ever Banega accompanied Ernesto Marcucci in the pre-match press conference for Wednesday's Champions League fixture with NK Maribor. He made the side's aims clear: "We've not come in search of a point, we've come to win and not having to think about any other match. We're going to a very difficult ground against a great opponent who will definitely want to finish off the Group Stage positively. But we've come in good form and with a good dynamic we'll hopefully continue growing".

"This team is growing and we want to show it on all pitches"

He insisted: "We want to get that first place. It's important to note that this team is growing and we want to show that on every stage. Whatever happens, we'll talk about it after the match but we'll go out to win and looking for that first place".

"We're capable of battling against any team"

Banega also had no doubts about the ability of Sevilla FC: "This team is growing a lot. We didn't start in the best way but it was a question of time and working together. It's a really difficult competition but we are capable of fighting against any team and we've already shown that. We have to go step by step, calmly and with humility".

Asked about the absence of Berizzo and the motivation of dedicating another victory to him, the midfielder said: "it's always a motivation to play for Sevilla FC and even more with what's happened to the gaffer. He's always with us. Ernesto is there, which is like if he was and we're all working together to make sure this comes out alright and we can help each other". He didn't want to enter into speculation on N'Zonzi, saying: "That's something that doesn't involve me, I prefer to leave it and allow others to sort it out".
