Áxel Torres' article: 'Reyes, puro fútbol', which was published on the 2nd June 2019 in El Periódico de Catalunya, won the X Jose Antonio Blázquez SFC Journalism Award. In it, the Catalan journalist spoke about the journey of José Antonio Reyes, who tragically died on 1st June in a road collision. Without too much emotional bearing, but with a lot stress at the time on defining the essence of the unique player, Torres picked up the award on Wednesday, 20th November afternoon in Seville, at the Robles Aljarafe restaurant.

Áxel Torres picked up the award from club President, José Castro and the widowed Ruesga Bono, said the following: "Thank you very much for the award, for inviting me here and for this reception. It's an honour. I am in a footballing city. Sevilla represents what football is losing, because there are now more and more clubs who are global enterprises and people who support a club that isn't from their own city. It's becoming less and less frequent to see these roots here and everytime I'm in Seville and I see the people devoted to their teams, I'm reminded of the fact that football continues to be something cultural, and that it has to be seen through the people and the city. Seville is special for this exact reason".

"Seville is special because it's football is cultural. Reyes represented his city as he grew up on these streets"

"José Antonio Reyes embodied this. I didn't want to have had to write this article. It was hard to do because it could talk about dark things and I don't like doing this. I wished to express that Reyes represented all that his city stood for as he grew up on its streets. I hope that football will be continued to be played out like this and that Sevilla FC continue to tell you what they are telling you".
