It is abundantly clear that André Silva and Ben Yedder are the in-form partnership at the Nervión club and in La Liga. The Portuguese and the Frenchman, with their goals in the eight fixtures so far in domestic competitions, have brought back goalscoring numbers that have not been seen for more than 60 years at Sevilla.

Since 1964, no other strike partnership from Sevilla had reached matchday eight of the league with five goals or more each. It was none other than Arza and Araujo who set the bar, with five and six goals respectively, but 64 years later, a new attacking partnership from Sevilla has surpassed them. André Silva with seven goals and Ben Yedder with five are establishing this new milestone.

64 years have passed since two fo Sevilla's strikers have scored 5 goals or more by matchday 8 of the league

If you closely evaluate the goalscoring ability of the Portuguese and the Frenchman, you have to go back to the 2006/2007 season to find a strike partnership at Sevilla with similar numbers. That season, Sevilla's forwards managed 11 goals by this stage of the season, although they did have an extra member, with the trio of Kanouté, Luis Fabiano and Kepa surpassing the ten-goal mark bu matchday eight.
