JESUS NAVAS: "I HAD TO DO EVERYTHING I COULD TO RECOVER"

The Sevilla legend said he'd had no holidays this year so he could recover quicker, he was also happy to have completed his first training sessions of the summer

Having completed this morning's morning training session alongside his teammates, Jesús Navas took the opportunity to speak to Club media in the hours following to discuss his recovery from injury: "Today I did a full session with the team and I'm eager to contribute because I couldn't be with them in the last month of last season and I want to help".

Navas confessed that this summer he has not taken holidays and has worked daily at the sports village: "very important matches are coming for us, I had to be there, give everything I could to recover. Being at Sevilla for me and for any player has to be the top aim. To play every match happy to be part of the team, for me, is an honour".

"We have to get to the Europa League group stage however possible"

The first objective is to be in the Group Stage of the Europa League, which is already very close: "The team is working hard to come into those matches well and I think that's the key, preparing well to get through".

"Machín shows a lot of excitement and wants a great year just like us"

Asked about Machín, he described "a close coach, with a lot of excitement and wanting a great year just like us. We have to move forward together to have that very good season... It's an honour for the boss to have spoken about you like that, now I need to work with the team and help as much as possible".

In that regard, he said: "I'm going to give everything in every training and every match. We have a big squad, we all work to play and do so with the maximum anticipation to be able to be in the side".
