With the game against Levante on Saturday in its infancy, Sergi Gómez had to go off injured. Then in the second half, Aleix Vidal also was withdrawn through injury. And on Wednesday against FC Barcelona, Jesús Navas and Pablo Sarabia also came off injured. This situation has been constantly happening throughout the season. Escudero against Villareal, Mercado against Betis, Amadou against Standard... And in training, Gonalons, twice, and Nolito have had serious bone fractures.

In addition to against their fellow opponents, Sevilla have been fighting against injuries this season. And they are doing so with flying colours, with the team occupying the Champions League spots since the end of September - 15 consecutive weeks - fighting for the Copa del Rey semi-final and they are in the UEFA Europa League Round of 32.

Despite the constant injuries, Sevilla have spent 15 consecutive weeks in the Champions League spots and is still in the cup and Europa League having played 39 games

In total, Sevilla players have missed 95 matches since the start of the season at the end of July.

Specifically, Gonalons has missed 28 matches, Aleix Vidal and Escudero 11, Mercado 10, Amadou 9, Navas 6, Kjaer and Nolito 5, André Silva and Gnagnon 3 - the latter just when he was beginning to get into form, and Carriço and Munir 2, with Munir barely having arrived.

There have been some very rocky moments, particularly when the defence found itself plagued with injuries, but thanks to the squad depth put together by Joaquín Caparrós, and the players' versatility, the team has overcome the knocks and setbacks.
