This Wednesday, Sevilla FC achieved their 60th home win in European competition by beating Spartak Moscow in the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán. The side first competed in European competition in Nervión in the 1957/58 season, 60 years ago in the European Cup. On that day, Sevilla beat Benfica 3-1 with goals from Pahuet, Antoniet and Pepillo.
Little did anyone know that this would be the start of a beautiful and extended history that has carried the Nervionenses to five UEFA Europa League titles, one European Supercup and a Champions League appearance tally that only four Spanish sides have surpassed.
