Sevilla FC managed another league win on Wednesday evening against Valencia CF, a victory which helped them not only return to winning ways after two matches without three points, but also post the second best points tally in the Club's history, 74, with the record within reach with two games left to play. Youssef En-Nesyri's goal also helped the team equal the record for games won in a season, set back in 14/15.

They were not the only stats set yesterday. With last night's clean sheet against Valencia at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán, Julen Lopetegui's Sevilla obtained their fiftieth clean sheet since the Basque's arrival at the Club. The team have achieved this feat in only 106 games, almost setting an average of a clean sheet every other game. It is the twenty-fourth clean sheet this season shared between sixteen in La Liga, two in the Champions League and six in the Copa del Rey.

Sevilla FC will finish 20/21 with 54 games played, the same as last season, and can equal the number of clean sheets, 26

Interestingly, the numbers are very similar to last season, 19/20, when the Blanquirrojos kept twenty-six clean sheets: seventeen in the league, seven in the UEFA Europa League and two in the Copa del Rey. Sevilla have two more games this 20/21 season, meaning they will equal the games played last season with 54. This will move Lopetegui up to 108 games at the Club and in the remaining two matches against Villarreal CF and Deportivo Alavés the team can equal the number of clean sheets set last season: 26.

This speaks volumes of the work done by Julen Lopetegui and his coaching staff since his arrival in Seville, managing to create a solid block with very few cracks, where the entire team works from the goalkeeper to the striker to deny the opposition any goals and thus create the best possible base from which to win.
