A night of football in Nervión, above all else. Sevilla FC vs UD Las Palmas - a midweek clash to continue the momentum Berizzo's side has built in La Liga which built following consecutive wins and reaching first place twice. The primary aim for this league match, though not the sole aim, is to secure our fourth consecutive league victory (after wins against Getafe, Eibar and Girona) and renew the Sánchez-Pizjuán's "fortress" status for 2017. Clearly, another aim is that Sevillistas everywhere enjoy their side's football and the team improves as each day passes but taking three points must be the principle objective. Nervión believes in giving the spotlight to its own players, whilst always respecting its opponent. The question is how to achieve goals decisively and with maximum intensity.

Sevilla are in the spotlight, wanting to give a good night of football to their fans and pick up three points

Building on wins. The match will demand a strong Sevilla performance against a side, which both before and after their movements in the Second Division, have a poor record on Nervión soil. Their last win here dates back to 1980 (0-1, 37 years ago), and in nine previous visits they have lost seven times and drawn twice (once 1-1 and once 0-0). In seven wins, Sevilla have amounted a goal record of 19 goals for and 4 goals against, with six clean-sheets. They're stats that can only be bolstered on the field. Manuel Márquez's squad have put together two consecutive wins, winning 1-3 on their visit to the Rosaleda and then winning 1-0 at home three days ago against Athletic Club Bilbao. In their opening games they picked up two losses, 1-0 in the Mestalla and 1-5 against Simeone's Atlético Madrid.

Starting elevens in transition: Argentinians Chichizola and Calleri for the Canaries as well as our very own Brazilian midfielder Ganso have been the only starters in all league matches

Both teams are in a transition period with their respective starting elevens. In fact, the Canary Island squad have only left two Argentinian starters unchanged, their goalkeeper Chichizola (7 goals conceded) and striker Calleri (2 goals scored). Another scorer of two goals, French striker Loic Remy (who scored his league goals in the 88th and 87th minutes), as well as the man who assisted him on both occasions - Dani Castellanos - do not travel to Sevilla. Meanwhile, ex-Sevillista Vitolo has only played in two matches. He makes the Canary squad alongside Roque Mesa and Jonathan Viera, as well as Italian midfielder Alberto Aquilani.

The significant stat on the Sevilla side is that Ganso (scorer of two goals) is the only player to have started in all four league matches, joining Rico, Lenglet (1 goal) and Sarabia amongst those who have played in each match. Nolito, Ben Yedder and Muriel have picked up a goal each, a promising start for a tally which should grow as matches continue. Being a midweek game and with a trip to the newly-opened Wanda Metropitano on the horizon, Berizzo will once again review his extensive squad and likely make new changes, involving players who did not participate in Girona. Ultimately, with the aim of three points, this Wednesday's fixture serves to concentrate the squad on football and give the fans a chance to enjoy the football of Sevilla FC.
