It wasn´t the best debut for David Soria. The Madrid-born keeper was trusted by Berizzo start against Espanyol, but was injured in the Catalan side´s first attack and was forced to go off and receive treatment:  "There´s never a good moment to get injured, so I´m very grateful for the affection and support the fans have showed me in the past few hours . It was a quick movement, where you don´t think and you put your hand where you have to put it. There is nothing else to do now other than recover".

I couldn´t help but shed a tear, on the field as well as on the bench: "It didn´t hurt because of all the adrenaline of the moment and once the doctor popped my finger back in, all I could feel was helplessness. After a bad year, to injure yourself when you are given an opportunity is hard. I wanted them to bandage me up and continue, but the doctor saw my finger was not in a good way and the substitution was for the best".

Luckily, with the return of international football in 14 days, he will miss as little competition as possible: "I´m very grateful for the boss´ trust, that he sees me as capable of showing I´m deserve to be here. Now I have to take advantage of the international period to get stronger, because on a physical level, I´m not going to lose anything".

Concluding, he addressed how the team will approach the match with Istanbul Basaksehir this Tuesday, a match which, understandably, he will be unavailable for: "The team is doing well, we´re excited and confident. The other day we could have won but things didn´t go our way. My substitution also had an impact beacuse, at the point in the season we´re at, it´s difficult to leave yourself one change down so early. But I think we´re doing well going forward".
