Sevilla FC's security services confiscated 198 tickets - which overwhelmingly had been bought through the club's Champions League ticket promotion but also included some season tickets - before the club's Champions League Group Stage fixture with Spartak Moscow.

With said tickets and season tickets traceable, the club has opened proceedings against the season-ticket holders who used their tickets improperly and by so doing seriously contravened internal regulations set on account of security concerns. The opening of proceedings could lead to sanctions as serious as the temporary or indefinite suspension of season tickets.

Sevilla FC would like to thank the majority of season-ticket holders for their patience and behaviour on the fixture in question - avoiding, where possible, any incidents occurring that night - and reemphasise its position of zero tolerance on the resale and fraudulent use of ID cards by season-ticket holders.

The club will be doubly vigilant for Liverpool's visit to the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán in a bid to avoid and stamp out similar behaviour.
