DEL NIDO: "NOW YOU HAVE SEEN JIMÉNEZ QUALITY"

It is not usual that José María del Nido attends a post match press conference, but last night he made an exception. Jiménez´s debut could not have gone better as he led Sevilla to victory against a stubborn Valencia side, and the President wanted to congratulate the new boss, "It is a victory that comes at a good time for the team, after what has been a difficult week for all involved with Sevilla. We have won and Jiménez has stamped his authority on Sevilla FC and it has pleased me immensely".

It also pleased the President that the fans did not mention Juande´s name at any moment during the game, "I believe that the fans grouped together to show their support for the new boss. We all wanted to give him our support, and it was great to see that when he went to the dugout everyone was cheering him. He is a Sevilla legend and he will be backed by everyone at Sevilla".

The President continued, "Juande Ramos is a past glory of Sevilla FC. In terms of what he achieved for this club I can only be grateful, but I don´t want to speak about him any more. I hope that from now on I will only talk about the club´s future and Manolo Jiménez. We have begun a new era at Sevilla FC and we have a manager who is held in high esteem by all of the squad. Today we have seen that the Manolo is capable of inspiring the players and I hope this continues"

The President was not surprised by yesterday's victory, "In football the people who can make the difference are the players on the pitch. When one has a fantastic squad, and an intelligent manager things rarely go wrong".
